INCORRECTThe ISO 7618-3 stanndard calls out C1 = VCC, C2 = RST, C3 = CLK, C5 = GND, C6 = SPU, C7 = IO.
ALthought the physical locations of your diagram will result in the pins being in the right place, I believe youve incorrectly called out the pin numbers. The 6 pin contact omits pins 4 and 8.

INCORRECTWhile the contact positions and signal descriptions seem to correspond (ie. seem correct), the pin numbering is definitely incorrect! As the second report here states, only pins 1 to 3 are numbered correctly. Looking up one of the two quoted references (http://www.physic.ut.ee/~kalev/smartcar.txt) in the Internet Archive confirms the numbering is in error. Also, looking up the SIM interface information for Wavecom GSM/GPRS modules shows that 1=Vcc, 2=Rst, 3=Clk, 5=GND, 7=I/O. Contact positions 4 and 8 are next to each other (not as shown!) and, for 6 contact SIM holders with 8 pins, these pins are used to provide a SIM-Present switch.APPROVED

2010-11-30 14:10:37ERROR FIXEDwhat's the difference between 6pin and 8pin card? There must be some difference. some docs said that the extra 2 pins are AS. Tell everyone what are they usually used for. They aren't useless, are they?rev. 3APPROVED

2012-02-02 20:51:35INCORRECTA Typical Sim Card has the following Pins: C1,C2,C3,C4,C5,C6,C7,C8. C4 and C8 are the pins typically not used, or listed as N/C, they are the pins that should be the bottom left, and Bottom right pins in the pin diagram. C5 is GND, and is the top right pin. C6 is VPP, and C7 is serial IO. The 8 Pin SMARTCARD Proprietary connector picture on your website is incorrect, and violates logical pin numbering convention. rev. 7NOT APPROVED
