CORRECTWorks like a charm, Its the official model 940-0024C cable recommended by apcupsd. They suggest it might even work without the DCD-DTR RTS-CTS shorts but that didn`t work for me.

CORRECTcompletely correct, works for me, for hyperterminal access shorting the DTR pins on the pc side is not necessary. Only connecting the data pins works fineAPPROVED

2009-09-11 22:43:38CORRECTI have tested with multimeter the original cable that came with APC Smart-UPS 750 (SUA750I), and found that all the connections from this document are present: UPS 2 - PC 2, UPS 1 - PC 3, UPS 9 - PC 5, PC 1 - PC 4, PC 7 - PC 8. I also tested the cable (and UPS) with software: built-in UPS service in Windows 2000 and APC Power Chute Plus, and all worked.rev. 7APPROVED

2011-10-09 11:49:42INCORRECTDocument contradicts it's own specs. Two diagrams show different wiring, yet they both include 940-0024B as specified cables. I have included these comments in detail in an 'edit' submission form. The shorter table looks correct, and the one with question marks appears to be wrong, or for another cable that I do not know of. Thanks KL from MN, USA PS, the 940-0024 is a serial data cable, RX/TX. The description should delete the words 'power-fail' and 'shut-down', as these are designations for those pins for a different cable (940-0020) with simple signalling, and not serial data, and a different pin usage and a transistor & resistors in the PC end. rev. 13NOT APPROVED
